9/17/14 – This is an interesting article about the different components of hotel franchise fees. PKF did a study where they analyzed the operating statements of 1,304 chain-affiliated hotels that reported franchise fee payment data each year from 2007 through 2013. The article looks at four different components of franchise fees…Royalty Fees, Advertising and Marketing Assessments, Loyalty Program Fees and Reservation Assessments… and explores how and why they have changed over the past 7 years.
