11/1/16 – Since last spring, 3 new hotels have been added to the hotel development pipeline in Portland, OR. According to the article The hotels are coming – but does Portland need them? by Jon Bell, there are approximately 3,000 new hotel rooms planned for Portland in the near future. Considering the full-year occupancy rate for 2015 hit 80 %, revenue was up 14 % in 2015 and over the past two years revenue from the lodging tax was up 46%… it seems demand for Portland hotel rooms may warrant such a healthy pipeline.
